Are you worried about going to work?
Are you safe at work?
Take our quiz and see how safe your workplace is. If you're not safe at work we will be in touch to tell you what you can do.
Did you know?
Your employer should have carried out a Covid specific risk assessment on any task you are asked to undertake.
You have a right to see the risk assessment.
ALL these safety measures should be in place and PPE should be available to you at ALL times.
If it is not available, then that's a safety issue and you should report it to a manager and the union.
Its vitally important that your manager supports you when customers are not respecting your safety. (The customer is not always right!)
Please let us know anytime your safety is not being taken seriously.
It is never okay to take short cuts with safety procedures.
If your manager asks you to not follow procedure, they are putting everyone in danger. You should report it immediately in writing/by email to their line manager and let us know.
We know it's hard to live on a fast food worker's wage. We know its even harder to live on Statutory Sick Pay.
We strongly advise you don't go to work in these circumstances but to ring 111 NHS immediately.
All these measures should be followed.
1) Immediate closure
2) Deep clean
3) All employees who had contact to self isolate.
Your employer has a “duty of care”. Please let us know if any of these measures are not being followed.
We don't think handling cash is safe and is a potential point of “cross contamination”. We are concerned the handling of cash could act as an entry point for the virus into the workplace.
Every Day. Keeping the virus out of the restaurant should be the number one concern. But because nobody can see the virus. Nobody knows if or when it is present in the restaurant.
You should be asked if you are "fit and able" every day before you start work. Its vital for your safety that every worker is asked this question to ensure everyone is kept safe.
Your temperature should be tested every day before you start your shift.
It's vital to track if you have a temperature because it is a symptom of Covid19
You could be entitled £95.85 per week. If you are:
1. You have Covid-19
2. You have Covid-19 Symptoms
3. Someone in your household has symptoms
4. You have been told to self isolate by a doctor or NHS 111
